Hannah is an incredible instructor, and easily one of my favorites. Both her classes and her approach to the practice are inconspicuously powerful. From a technical perspective, the way that she structures her classes, gives out cues, and guides students through the practice is excellent. Her instruction encourages you to sink into poses gently and naturally, allowing you to focus on your breath and get in touch with your body. She’s an intuitive teacher with an innate ability to read the room and react accordingly. What I admire about her most, however, is how obviously dedicated she is to teaching and her own practice, and how much of herself she puts into both. Icing on the cake is her gorgeous singing voice which is always an incredible way to bookend practice. All in all, classes with Hannah are a real treat. If I were to describe Hannah's yoga classes and teaching style in one word, it would be nourishing. Each class is like a mini retreat back to yourself and connecting to your body. I feel refreshed and rejuvenated after each time we meet; her intentionally paced practice always seems to ground me and bring presence, peace and calm back to my body. Hannah has quickly become one of my favorite yoga teachers. I have gone to many classes over the past 5+ years and the reason I love her class comes down to this - I trust her. We’ve been able to grow together as a class. I feel safe to push my boundaries under her direction, and have seen my progression immensely. In the past I have found myself unable to focus in yoga classes but her teaching practice is so very detailed that her queues requires me to focus on my breath and movement. Between work and life stress, to be able to dedicate this time twice a week and remove outside thoughts is an outlet I’ve never been able to achieve before; I never believed I’d be able to get lost in yoga! With Hannah specifically, you can tell she really cares about her students, helping them improve, and personalizing each class. Hannah knows what we want to focus on because she takes the time to get to know her students. And a bonus, she even sings at the end of class and/or walk around with essential oils and I love it - this has united us and gives a sense of community. My first ever yoga class was with Hannah, and although I have taken other classes, she remains the best teacher I have had so far. As a first time yoga student, Hannah provides an amazing environment to experience, learn, and grow. Her instruction is clear and easy to follow, but also challenging and engaging. I find it easy to push myself to new limits on days where my practice needs to grow, and easy to stick with what I know on days where my practice needs to rest. Hannah is extremely talented in both performing the poses/movements, as well as explaining how to do them to attendees of all skill levels. Her adjustments, verbal and hands-on, are really helpful. A class with Hannah is the perfect way to start, punctuate, or wrap up a day.
