Consistency is a good thing
During my practice I've been collecting bits and pieces from my teachers' classes. Things that I want to incorporate, and weave into my own classes. Sometimes it's a sequence or a dynamic movement, sometimes it's a phrase, imagery, a song, a cue, a moment of silence and stillness. When I began teaching I was shocked out how quickly I burned through these tidbits. I stressed out about providing something new and unique for my students, something that was fun. Challenging. Different. And while I still listen, and try to remember pieces that I find interesting, I know that familiarity is okay too. Consistency is a good thing. Showing up. How many times have you done Warrior II in class? As long as you're being present and feeling the pose, does it matter? Progress and growth are born from practice.
